MIPT students won gold at the international competition in synthetic biology

In 2021, seven teams from Russia participated in the most prestigious international competition for genetic engineering iGEM. Six of them received medals, including the MIPT_MSU team, that for the first time presented MIPT and MSU at this event and received a gold medal.
The iGEM World Competition of projects by schoolchildren, students and postgraduates in synthetic biology has been held since 2003 by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Its goal is to solve the problems of modern medicine, healthcare, environmental protection, transition to a green economy, industrial and food production. The teams have been working on their own projects for a whole year.
